respectful、respectable、respective 怎麼分？

都是 respect 的變化，但是意思差很多！

  • respectful (a.) 滿懷敬意的
    be respectful to sb 尊敬某人

    You should be respectful to the elderly.

    你應該尊敬長輩。

    ? 字尾 -ful 有「充滿……」的意思。例如 careful 充滿＋仔細，就是「仔細的、小心的」。respectful「充滿尊敬」，就是指心中滿懷敬意哦！

  • respectable (a.) 可敬的；值得尊敬的

    Our teacher is a respectable scholar.
